VRV System Field Reference
This guide covers all the fields and options available when configuring VRV system quotes in the Cooledge mobile app. VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) systems are complex multi-zone systems with multiple indoor units connected to outdoor units.
Overview
VRV systems provide individual zone control with multiple indoor units of different types connected to outdoor units. This quote type supports complex configurations with various indoor unit categories, zone controls, and installation specifications.
1. Power Supply Configuration
Configure electrical power requirements:
Power Supply Options:
- Not Set: No power selection made
- Reuse: Use existing electrical supply
- New Dedicated Circuit RCBO: New circuit with RCBO protection
- New Dedicated Circuit Safety Switch: New circuit with safety switch
- MCB Upgrade: Upgrade existing MCB
- RCBO Upgrade: Upgrade to RCBO protection
- Safety Switch Upgrade: Add safety switch protection
Additional Electrical Labor:
- Labor Hours: Numeric field for additional electrical work (default: 0)
2. Outdoor Unit Configuration
Configure outdoor unit installation requirements:
VRV Outdoor Unit Mounting Options:
- Anti Vibration Rubber Mat: Standard vibration dampening
- Evocrete Slab: Concrete slab mounting
- Adjustable Anti Vibration Feet: Adjustable vibration isolation
- PVC Mounting Feet: PVC foot mounting system
- Brackets up to 2m: Standard bracket mounting to 2 meters
- Brackets above 2m: High bracket mounting above 2 meters
- Brackets up to 2m (Stainless Steel): Corrosion-resistant brackets to 2m
- Brackets above 2m (Stainless Steel): Corrosion-resistant high brackets
- Roof Brackets: Specialized roof mounting brackets
- Treated Pine Timbers: Timber mounting platform
- Not Set: No mounting type selected
3. Indoor Unit Areas Configuration
VRV systems support multiple indoor unit areas with individual configurations:
Area Management:
- Area Names: Custom naming for each zone (e.g., "Area 1", "Office", "Bedroom")
- Unit Selection: Individual indoor unit selection per area
- Add-Ons: Area-specific add-on selection
- Indoor Categories: Three main indoor unit types with specific options
4. Indoor Unit Categories
4.1 Wall or Ceiling Mounted Type
For wall-mounted and ceiling cassette units:
Pipe Work Configuration:
- Normal pipe run: Standard piping installation
- Long pipe run: Extended piping requirements
- Reuse: Reuse existing piping
Controller Types:
- Wireless IR Controller: Infrared remote control
- Wired Wall Controller (cassette & underceiling only): Hard-wired wall control
- Link Controller to Another: Controller linked to another unit
Condensate Drain:
- To Tundish By Plumber: Professional plumbing connection
- To Suitable Drainage Location: Direct drainage connection
4.2 Low Static Duct Type / Bulkhead
For low-pressure ducted units:
Installation Types:
- Bulkhead: Bulkhead installation
- Joinery: Custom joinery installation
- Ceiling: Standard ceiling installation
Grille Types:
- Standard Flange Bar Grille: Standard flanged grille
- Flangeless Bar Grille: Flush-mount grille
Controller Types:
- Wired Wall Controller: Hard-wired wall control
- Wireless IR Controller: Infrared remote control
- Link Controller to Another: Controller linked to another unit
4.3 Mid-High Static Duct Type
For high-pressure ducted systems with full ductwork:
Installation Types:
- New Ceiling: New ceiling ducted installation
- New Underfloor: New underfloor ducted installation
- Replacement Ceiling: Replace existing ceiling system
- Replacement Underfloor: Replace existing underfloor system
Outlet Configuration:
- Standard Round Outlets: Number of new round outlets (numeric field)
- Reuse Outlets: Number of existing outlets to reuse (numeric field)
- Dropper Ducts: Number of dropper ducts required (numeric field)
Return Air Types:
- Single Supply and Return Bar Grille: Combined supply/return grille
- New - Ceiling: New ceiling return air system
- Replace Grille - Ceiling: Replace ceiling return grille only
- Replace Grille & Box - Ceiling: Replace grille and return air box
- Reuse - Ceiling: Reuse existing ceiling return system
- New - Floor: New floor return air system
- Replace Grille & Box - Floor: Replace floor return components
- Reuse - Floor: Reuse existing floor return system
Return Air Notes:
- Custom Notes: Free text field for return air specifications
Ductwork Types:
- New standard R1.0: New ductwork with R1.0 insulation
- New upgraded R1.5: New ductwork with R1.5 insulation
- Replacing with new - R1.0: Replace existing with R1.0 insulation
- Replacing with new - R1.5: Replace existing with R1.5 insulation
- Replacing R/A only: Replace return air ductwork only
- Reuse all: Reuse all existing ductwork
Controller Types:
- Wired Wall Controller: Hard-wired wall control
- Link Controller to Another: Controller linked to another unit
Zone Control:
- Zone Count: Number of zones (0-14 zones available)
- iZone Option: Toggle for iZone smart zone control integration
5. Time and Installation Configuration
Time Allowance Options:
- 0.5 Day: Half-day installation
- 3/4 Day: Three-quarter day installation
- 1 Day: Full day installation
- 1.5 Days: Day and a half installation
- 2 Days: Two-day installation
- Not Set: No time allowance set
Number of Installers:
- Not Set: Installer count not specified
- 1: Single installer
- 2: Two installers
- 3: Three installers
- 4: Four installers
6. Individual Area Configuration
Each indoor unit area includes:
Unit Selection:
- Indoor Unit: Select specific VRV indoor unit for the area
- Indoor Category: Automatically set based on unit type (Wall/Ceiling, Low Static, Mid-High Static)
Drainage Configuration:
- Condensate Pump: Toggle for condensate pump requirement
- Drain Type: Outside, Garden/Lawn, Downpipe, Reuse
Area-Specific Photos:
- Indoor Photos: Photos specific to each indoor unit area
- Documentation: Visual documentation per area installation
7. Quote Configuration
Configure quote presentation and pricing:
Quote Options:
- Include in Detailed Quote: Toggle to include/exclude this option from detailed quotes
- Adjustment: Dollar amount to add or subtract from total
- Total Price: Calculated total for VRV system
- Refund Call Out Fee: Toggle to refund initial consultation fee
Quote Notes:
- Line 1: First line of custom notes
- Line 2: Second line of custom notes
