The duct designer, built into your quoting tool

Stop flipping between Cooledge and a purpose-built duct design tool. Auto Duct Layout gives you the same visual design surface and take-off, inside the tool you already use every day for quoting.

  • One-click auto-routing for plenums, BTO and DBTO fittings, flex, dampers and outlets
  • Full manual drawing with a complete parts library
  • Outdoor unit and refrigerant pipework included in one view
  • Drawn layout drives your take-off automatically

One-click auto-routing

Press Auto Layout and Cooledge places plenums, BTO and DBTO fittings, flex runs, dampers, outlets, the outdoor unit and refrigerant pipework based on your zones and heatload. Use it as a starting point, then tweak by hand.

  • Plenums, BTO and DBTO fittings placed automatically
  • Flex runs, dampers and outlets sized to heatload
  • Outdoor unit and refrigerant pipework included

Full manual drawing

Every part you need: BTO, DBTO, plenums, flex with smooth curves coloured by size, zone dampers, indoor unit, outdoor unit and refrigerant pipework. Pointer events throughout, so the same canvas works on your laptop and your iPad on-site.

  • Full fittings and flex parts library
  • Smooth curves coloured by duct size
  • Works on laptop and iPad with pointer events

Outlets live on the plan

Drag outlets to match the real ceiling positions, pin them and Cooledge re-routes the flex duct automatically. Zone validation warns you if a room ends up unreachable so you catch the problem before the install day.

  • Drag and pin outlets to real ceiling positions
  • Flex duct re-routes automatically
  • Zone validation catches unreachable rooms early

Take-off follows the drawing

Every fitting, flex run, damper, outlet, indoor unit, outdoor unit and metre of refrigerant pipework flows into your take-off. The quote and the take-off reflect the drawn layout, with no parts mismatch at the supplier desk.

  • Every drawn part flows into the take-off
  • Quote and take-off stay in sync with the layout
  • No parts mismatch at the supplier desk

Powerful Features Under the Hood

Everything you need to design a duct system that matches how you install them

Auto Layout Algorithm

One click places the indoor unit, the right-sized plenum, BTO and DBTO reducers for zone splits, flex runs to every outlet, dampers per zone and the outdoor unit with refrigerant pipework.

  • Plenum sized to match the system (1-way, 2-way, 3-way)
  • BTO and DBTO reducers inserted where duct size steps down
  • Flex runs coloured by size (150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 mm)
  • Matches the take-off algorithm so the BOM stays in sync

Parts Library

Every part you need to draw a real-world duct system. Drag from the Parts panel and drop on the floor plan. Labels auto-generate with size and length.

  • Indoor units, outdoor units (Small, Medium, Large, Twin)
  • 1-way, 2-way, 3-way supply plenums and RA plenums
  • BTOs, DBTOs, flex duct in 6 sizes, dampers, fittings
  • Outlets: round, square, linear, wall grilles, floor grilles

Real-world Sizing

Components render at their real size on the floor plan using your metres-per-pixel scale. What you draw matches what you install, down to physical clearances and duct lengths.

  • Metres-per-pixel calibration from floor plan scale
  • Flex runs measured in real metres, not pixels
  • Fitting sizes drive reducer placement and port matching
  • Clearance checks warn if an outlet falls outside a room

Take-off Follows the Drawing

The drawn layout drives your supplier take-off automatically. Every fitting, every metre of flex, the outdoor unit and every metre of refrigerant pipework flows through to the order.

  • Fittings, plenums, dampers, outlets all counted
  • Flex runs summed by size
  • Outdoor unit plus refrigerant pipework included
  • No parts mismatch between quote and supplier order
